Refund & Cancellation Policy

A legal disclaimer

Effective Date: September 1, 2025

At LedgerLink Notary Services, we value your time and trust. Our refund and cancellation policy is designed to be fair to both our clients and our business operations.

1. Eligibility for Refunds

Refunds may be issued under the following conditions:

  • A service was paid for but not delivered due to circumstances within our control.

  • An appointment was canceled by us (LedgerLink), and rescheduling was not possible.

  • A duplicate payment was made in error.

2. Non-Refundable Situations

Refunds will not be issued when:

  • The client fails to appear at the scheduled appointment (no-show).

  • The client provides incorrect, invalid, or expired identification.

  • The notarial act or officiant service cannot be completed due to the signer’s incompetency, unwillingness, or legal restrictions.

  • Travel fees, after-hours fees, witness fees, or fingerprinting materials have already been incurred.

  • The service was completed successfully.

3. Refund Timeframe

  • Requests for refunds must be made within 7 calendar days of the original appointment date.

  • Approved refunds will be processed within 10 business days to the original method of payment.

4. Full vs. Partial Refunds

  • Full Refunds will be issued if cancellation is made at least 48 hours in advance of the scheduled appointment and no costs have been incurred.

  • Partial Refunds may apply when:

    • Cancellations are made less than 48 hours before the appointment.

    • Travel has already been undertaken.

    • Witnesses or additional resources were secured on behalf of the client.

    • Only a portion of services could be rendered (e.g., multiple documents, but only some notarized).

In such cases, service fees already rendered and non-refundable costs will be deducted from the refund amount.

5. Cancellations & Rescheduling

  • Clients may reschedule without penalty if notice is given at least 24 hours in advance.

  • If rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice, a rescheduling fee may apply.

  • If the client fails to appear or cancels at the time of service, no refund will be issued.

6. Officiant Services

  • A non-refundable booking deposit may be required to secure officiant services.

  • If the wedding is canceled by the couple, only unused travel and non-deposit fees may be eligible for a partial refund (if notice is given at least 7 days in advance).

  • If the officiant is unable to perform the ceremony due to illness or emergency, a substitute officiant or full refund will be provided.

7. Fingerprinting Services

  • Due to material costs, fingerprinting fees are non-refundable once materials are used.

  • If equipment failure prevents completion, rescheduling or a refund will be offered.

8. Method of Refund

Refunds are issued back to the original form of payment (credit/debit card, electronic payment, or cash). We do not issue refunds in cash for card payments.

9. Dispute Resolution

If you believe you are entitled to a refund outside of this policy, please contact us in writing. We will review each request in good faith.
